Matthew J. Jalowiec graduated from the University of New Haven with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1996. He received his law degree from Quinnipiac College School of Law in 2000, where he attended on an academic scholarship. Matthew has also studied aboard attending a semester at Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland where he studied international law. In 1998 he worked for the State of Connecticut Office of the Public Defender while attending Quinnipiac, and in 2000 clerked for the Connecticut Superior Court Complex Litigation Docket. He has also worked in the International Law Division of Doctor's Associates Inc..
In the fall of 2000 Attorney Jalowiec formed a full service multi-attorney law firm which serviced clients throughout the State of Connecticut on matters ranging from Juvenile Matters to Personal Injury Actions. During that time the office served as Counsel for the Connecticut Chief Child Protection Agency, the Office of the Public Defender and the Office of the Probate Court Administrator.
Matthew J. Jalowiec was elected Judge of Probate for the 18th Probate District which consists of the towns of Cheshire and Southington in 2010. In said capacity he serves over 75,000 residents on matters ranging from estates, trusts, conservatorships, guardianships of children and termination of parental rights. Judge Jalowiec was re-elected in 2014 for another four year term as Judge of Probate.
Attorney Jalowiec is admitted to practice law in the State of Connecticut. He is a member of the National College of Probate Judges, the Connecticut Probate Assembly, and sits on the board of directors for the non-profit Cheshire Half Marathon, Inc., and the Darcey School Planning and Management Team. He is also a member of Temple Lodge No. 16, in Cheshire, Washington Lodge No. 81 in Cromwell, and St. Elmo's Commandrie in Meriden. Attorney Jalowiec has also been a guest Judge for the Southington Schools' annual DECA competition.
In addition to the above, Matthew Jalowiec also presents on the topics of estate planning to the Derby, Cheshire and Southington Senior Centers, the Southington Library, the Cheshire Board of Education, the Southington Board of Education, the Boy Scouts of America, the Cub Scouts and the Daughter's of The American Revolution as well as AARP. He has also been a keynote speaker for the National College of Probate Judges.
Attorney Jalowiec has been published in the Quinnipiac Law School Probate Journal for his work related to contested estates, the Alliance Advantage Magazine published by the Hospital of Central Connecticut and has been a guest presenter on Ethics before the Connecticut Probate Assembly.
